You would likely need to obtain a 1st somehow and add in a mix of Wallinder/Velano/McIsaac providing none of the big 3 prospects are on the table. Even then Im not sure the Sharks would "bite"

Agreed I would rather stay the course, just wanting to see what it would look like to trade for him. Seen alot of Hertl signing in Detroit AGMs to make the Czeching line with Vrana and Zadina.

Veleno and Berggren are less popular prospect names but are definitely up there in potential, so I agree this is an overpay if there's no extension in place.

I like Berggren but Im not sold that hes on the same level as someone like Boldy. Veleno and Fabbri dont impress me at all, I dont think they are anything but depth long term.

Berggren and a first is certainly a more appealing offer here, but I understand your first could still be pretty high so not going to happen. If you trade like Vrana or someone for a mid first, then I could see a possible Hertl deal.

Honestly don't hate this. Centers are our main area of need which Veleno should fill if we were to trade Hertl. He's not necessarily the best prospect ever, but I don't mind him. Berggren is solid too. Just would rather see better return than a 2nd and Fabbri (who we don't really need). Just Veleno and a 1st would be more enticing but I'd understand the Wings not wanting to trade away a 1st.

Highly doubt the Wings even consider this, but Cossa would be huge for SJ as well.

If it’s a deadline deal, a premium for an extension is not normally included. Selling team for can ask for that but isn’t going to get.

Otherwise just wait a few months and sign him as UFA.
