If you have to trade away close to a quarter of your team at the deadline, should you even bother? Thats not really a contender.

Wow, quite a post. Leafs are worse on defence trading Holl and Dermot for Bortuzzo and Lauzen
Ottawa says no easily
Seattle says no, really why would they trade a player with years of control for a UFA Mikheyev?

ill give you it yes holl is a bit better then bortuzzo but lauzon is much better then dermott defensively

2020-21 stats
lauzon 41gp 3:05 SH TOI 98 hits 53 blocked shots 8 points +8
dermott 51gp 0:25 SH TOI 44 hits 35 blocked shots 6 points -1
in less games lauzon averaged more in every shown stat category by almost double except points if you were to average their games out, not to mention while dermott got benched in playoffs
lauzon was playing top line minutes once he was back from injury
2021-22 stats
lauzon 14gp 1:35 SH TOI 38 hits 9 Blocked shots 3 points -2
dermott 14gp 0:16 SH TOI 16 hits 9 blocked shots 1 point -2
this is even more impressive from lauzon as now he is playing bottom line minutes on a team with excellent PKers in oleksiak, larrson, soucy and giordano leading to less PK time but yet he still proves to be a better dman while on a much worse team.
the comparison of lauzon and dermott is not even close lauzon is much more physical, a better shot blocker is trusted to play top PK minutes he lead the league last year for average SH TOI which should show alone that he must be better then dermott defensively and hell even in a short amount of games he has had more points too
lauzon.

lauzon was the best defensive LHD on bruins last season and probably is the second best in seattle this year ill give oleksiak an edge on him, the only LHD dermott is better defensively on toronto is sandin but sandin is 50x better offensively. it ain't even a question lauzon would give a huge boost to toronto's defence if he was moved for dermott your toronto bias is just way to much lol

For the 5000th time, Blues pass. They are not trading Bortz for Holl or Dermott.
