I don't know about Benning, but I don't see how Adams does it.

Unless that first is top 3 I'm not doing that (Canucks).

No thank you.

We are in year 1 of our rebuild. Not blowing it up for one guy. We got burned already having a savior complex

As much as this trade would be a win for Buffalo I think they need to fix their internal culture first and foremost and continue building through the draft, if Pettersson comes in and clearly isn't happy then it'd really get the Sabres nowhere, if he came in and wanted to stay with the Sabres then that's a different story entirely and then this would be a good move for them.

I think culture is changing. Ever since coaching change BUF has played way better

There is also no toxic locker room anymore. I just don't see the point in this trade for Buffalo. Krebs is the player Adams really wanted to see in Buffalo. Thompson at least now looks like a solid top 9 center and is still young. This first one could probably be Jiricek or Nemec. Not to mention the fact that Miller is now better than Myers and their contracts are incomparable. Pettersson is certainly a great young center, but you have chosen the wrong team to trade.

Everything here is correct. Myers is a poison pill for me, and theres no way our first is on the table. Plus, think of it this way, if we start losing games where we are outclassed, we should start dropping like a stone in the standings, and we should have a good look at drafting a franchise center with our own first. Then we dont get two joyous years of a declining myers, we keep thompson, trade miller for a 2nd, keep the other 2 2nds, plus we get about 15 million in cap space. This is not a hard decision.

Even if we start to fall, we probably won't be alone. Even if we don't get Wright or Savoie, we can still pick a very good prospect.

I really like Brad Lambert, but since we have gone wing heavy in the last two drafts I’m not sure he would be the guy they want the most. But if he’s the best player available you still take him in my opinion. Realistically even if we did have a terrible record the odds of us winning the draft lottery two years in a row are pretty slim. But I think this draft is pretty well set in terms of who the top three players are.

I also like Lambert, but his stock is falling, I even doubt he will be chosen in the top 10. Over the past year, he has had poor production and a very dubious father who is obsessed with controlling his son. I wouldn't risk picking him in the top 10, but if he is still on the table with a choice of Vegas or Florida, then I would take the risk.
