Jackets Next Year with Elias Redo

Description
Using Petterson trade from another AGM post and 2021-2022 deadline trades. As a jackets fan I think I would rather stay the course and not pay this much for him but I was curious what the roster may look like with these deals done. I would certainly pursue one or two defensemen in FA depending on how Carlsson look to finish the season as well as the development of Svozil and Ceulemans.

As a fan, I am of the preference that the Jackets do not do this deal for Pettersson. I was just curious what the roster would look like if this deal were done and where the holes would be. trading Foudy and Bemstrom feels like it would be smart to acquire some D help. I love the thought of Sillinger, Johnson, Marchenko, Chinakhov all being on the team together.

I wouldn’t make that trade for Pettersson either, sorry but he isn’t worth 3 1sts, 2 of which being valued in the top 10 right now.

Is korpisalo good? Im not watching him, he is now living sub .900, and has been for some time. Giving up an early second for a goalie signed for 4 years is probably fine- if hes good. Is he? The numbers say no.

Depends who you ask. People on here say no, Jackets have played terribly in front of him. Insiders seem to think he is still one of the top rental targets.

Tough to say. He get's no help, but will make some huge saves to bail the team out, then he lets in a soft one. He's better than the numbers present but not sure he will ever be a #1 goalie in the league.

I agree. I don't think we can afford to lose boqvist in this. The lower first and Johnson is probably best I would be willing to go. Maybe add Foudy, Bemstrom, Gus, Tex and get a lower pick in return depending on the winger.

He's very streaky/hot-and-cold. One minute, he makes some of the best saves you've ever seen, and then the next he watches a softie go over his shoulder like "whoops there it goes".

Columbus should definitely not do that

That value is about it, but whether it’s the right trade or not is another question.

Columbus has been desperate for a true 1C since their inception 21 years ago. It has to be tempting for Jarmo & Co., but I think ultimately they’d probably rather keep their own young assets and try to keep adding through the draft.
