Doesn't ARI get the higher of the two Carolina / Montreal picks??

EDIT: Nevermind, here are the conditions on the 1st round pick as part of the Dvorak trade, if you were confused just as I was.

The better of Montreal/Carolina's 2022 1st round pick BUT if either or both are top 10 picks then Montreal will instead transfer to Arizona the worse of Montreal/Carolina's 2022 1st round pick.

No appreciation of other teams cap, if not for this season, following seasons. Some wildly optimistic on returns to Montreal

NYR pays a 2nd and 4th for a guy with 8 goals in his last 60 games? not likely

The Petry trade is definitely something the Jets would not consider due to cap concerns age and contract length.

Seems like Habs fans think they are going to get a good return for a 3.4m player. Third and fourth line wingers are now overpaid at 3.4m

- Carey Price, even at 9.0 x 4 years does NOT return a very good prospect (Holloway), a 1st and a 2nd

- That's just NOT how the LTIR works (we told you in another thread)

- Jeff Petry at 6.25 x 3 years does NOT return a 1st + 2nd + 3rd

- Chiarot might return a late 1st but the Islanders pick doesn't look like a late first right now

- Joel Armia at 3.4 x 3 years does NOT return positive assets. You would have to PAY for someone to take that contract (just like it has been the case with Byron)

- Mike Hoffman and Harris do NOT return a 1st and a 2nd

- Brett Kulak does NOT return a 2nd lol what is this?

- Toffoli does NOT return a 1st + 2nd + 3rd

This is probably the most unrealistic ACGM I have ever seen wowzers

Unless I'm reading this completely wrong, I feel like you're misunderstanding how LTIR works in that Edmonton trade.

Rough math here, but...

Current: Edmonton 22/23 cap obligations: $76.21 mil ($6.29 mil in space, with 8 players to sign, including Yam, Poolparty, goaltender)
Your version for 22/23 cap obligations: Remove Kassian=73.01, add Price at $9 mil=$82.01. That's with 7 forwards signed, 6 dmen, and 2 goalies. Taking on Weber to LTIR doesn't magically raise the cap, it just means that he doesn't count against it.

Also, Montreal "Taking on money" is a big 'ol stretch. The Habs are taking on about $6-7 mil in salary obligations, and shipping out $35 ish mil.

The acquisition of Zack Kassian from Montreal is one of the few good trades Chiarelli made, not quite as remarkable as the Maroon acquisition, but very good nonetheless. At the time, he was considered a risk and a reclamation project and his hard work and commitment got him out of that situation. He has given the Oilers some monstrous performances, and paid them back in spades. He had a poor season last year, but he has showed numerous signs that he is ready to deliver his "A" game again. Right now, the only detraction should be his salary, which is costly for a 3rd line forward. IMO, it would be both cruel and foolish to send Kassian back to Montreal. In fact, it would be almost as foolish as trading Holloway, a 1st and a 2nd round pick for an extremely expensive defender who will never play again, and another future Hall of Fame goaltender in the twilight of his career.

Too much for Hoffman and Bruins don't want him. That being said, if you want to send Harris, I'm sure they will take it.

Is this a joke? Edmonton isn't trading valuable assets for your salary dumps.

Last thing the Jets need is no cap room to sign Dubois and Copp
