Not enough for Chiarot. A late 1st is worth historically a early 2nd and another 2nd. 2 later 2nds isnt worth as much

It really doesn't make Leafs cap compliant. Mrzarek will be returning soon, and Leafs would have to jettison some big contract next season for sure.

He's over played but he's definitely useful. A good comparable is Savard with retention who fetched a 1st and a 4th from TBL last year. While the leafs probably aren't a great fit and shouldn't give up a first for him some team will.

He's actually a solid top 4 option who's played too much. Coleman, Goodrow, Savard all fetched first from ..... Tampa, yes those moves worked out terribly for them, laughable really.

No thanks to Chiarot. They've already got Ritchie to take unnecessary penalties.

Not sure about the Vancouver trade, other than that it will never happen. Leafs would essentially be giving up their future forwards for two chances at the cup. If Campbell wants 5 million that leaves about 4 million for 6-7 players, and the ELCs that could've compensated for that are gone.

on a contending team hes a bottom pairing dman, dont let a cinderella run fool you, savard was better last year than chiarot is, he plays big minutes on a bad dcore so it doesnt say much, coleman and goodrow worked out but they also werent rentals and once again, are way better than chiarot

Goodrow is not better then Chiarot he's a 3rd liner lol and neither is Savard. Savard and Chiarot underlying numbers are actually very similar these past 3 years, so no he's not way better. He seemed to do a great job at shutting down Matthews and Marner last year, perhaps that explains your hate for him.

people see chiarot take penaltiesa and cross check infront of the net and deem him "good" because hes "tough", danault helped shut them down, and you know well if youre a leafs fan that marner and matthews were nowhere close to their best, matthews and marner shut themselves down more than any hab, if the leafs were to pay a 1st for chiarot i would lose my mind

Chiarot plays tough yes which is a good thing but that has nothing to do with the underlying metrics I just spoke of. Matthews and Marner started gripping their sticks tighter and tighter as the series went on but that's because they weren't producing as expected because Montreal did a very good job of limiting their chances, especially in games 5, 6 and 7 Chiarot who was matched up against them was a big part of that.

I too wouldn't be very happy if we traded a 1st for Chiarot, but that's because we don't need him, we already have 3 solid LHD, there are contending teams out there though that do need to bolster their lest side though and Chiarot fits that bill.

Vancouver declines. The offer is maybe enough for one of those player with retained salary but not both.

That's such a braindead comment. You're overvaluing two second liners in a package 2x what Eichel got. Horvat + Miller ≠ Eichel, and Horvat + Miller ≠ this package

Miller is top ten in scoring this year, how does that make him a second liner? Kerfoot is a cap dump in this deal and Engvall, Robertson and Holl don't have that much value. A late 1st and Amirov don't get you Miller and Horvat with retained salary.
You're the one overvaluing players.

Lmao what. Miller is stat padding points due to his ice time, and is impacting no where near a top 10 level. Kerfoot has been thriving on the wing this year since Keefe isn't playing him as a shutdown 3C, and Robertson is literally an A level prospect. Wake up and stop acting like two second liners are worth more than Eichel
