Trades
1.
TOR
  1. Välimäki, Juuso
  2. 2023 6th round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Valimaki is a healthy scratch for the Flames and apparently Sutter isn't high on him
CGY
  1. Ritchie, Nick
Additional Details:
On the other hand Ritchie gives the coach more grind which he can't seem to get enough of and is a logical successor to the aging Lucic.
2.
TOR
  1. Petry, Jeff ($2,000,000 retained)
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
Petry solidifies the Leaf top four for a price they can make work under the cap.
MTL
  1. Duszak, Joseph
  2. Muzzin, Jake
  3. Välimäki, Juuso
Additional Details:
The Habs will have lots of holes to fill on the blueline in the off-season thanks to UFA. This helps them get younger while still adding a veteran presence to pair with Savard.
3.
TOR
  1. 2022 4th round pick (SEA)
SEA
  1. Holl, Justin
Additional Details:
Seattle has 2 lefty defensemen playing the right side on a nightly basis and a 4th round pick is hardly a back breaking price to pay to help fix that problem.

why on earth would the leafs trade Muzzin (who is better than petry, especially this year) for Petry who is two years older and signed until he is 36, PLUS two other assets. This must have been made by a Habs fan

I happen to disagree with your assessment of Muzzin and Petry, especially this year. Also if you missed it, this is for 22/23 so next year.

petry has been worse than Muzzin by a massive massive margin this year

Why would Calgary ever do that? Let alone be the team adding a pick

Really on Leafs posts, so many think 20 man roster are realistic.....they're not.
And these trades.....Muzzin has a NMC, he has NMC and won't be traded to Montreal. How is Ritchie a successor to Lucic when Ritchie is a UFA in a year and a half? The Leafs trade two Dmen for just one.??
