Leafs Next Year Not so realistic

Created by: KMarner10
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 20, 2021
Published: Nov. 20, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Note: This is not what I think will happen.

It will be interesting to see how Dubas approaches this Campbell situation because after every game, it seems that Campbell's price goes up. We also will have to resign/sign depth players that fit the team needs.

While I can see the Leafs going for a guy like Eberle, I think that Eberle himself is unrealistic because he still has multiple years of control and is one of the "franchise players" for the Kracken. However, this trade would be ideal.

I wouldn't call it "getting worse". Sure, they lost a couple decent pieces, the best being Kerfoot. But they need Campbell, Sandin and Liljegrin are going to have a better future than Holl, and Ritchie has not been good enough to be paid 2.5M on this team.

Eberle brings a lot to the table offensively, which is where the Leafs lack. Semyonov has a decent ceiling as a two-way player that can also play up the middle. Hopefully by 2023-24, Niemela can take over Dermott's spot and continue what he has done so far.

So all in all, the goaltending is VERY good for years to come, the team is the best it has been in years defensively, and there is some very good goal-scoring potential.

well, i mean the roster is worse so they got worse. They gave up a bunch of useful players and assets for literally nothing and replacing them with nothing

I get where you're coming from, but this team is better for the future and it still gives the same hope - if not higher - going into the playoffs.

It was essentially just a team that could use a depth forward, not Anaheim in particular
