Seems Molson agrees with us, he wants better drafting, better development and better support for the players

LFG, now get Darche ( to help our impending cap problems ) or Madden Jr ( to help our drafting ) and we're good to go

Gorton is the GM without the title because he's not bilingual - I like the plan so far

Yep, I know but we're still not going to sign Joe Random to be our GM due to Gorton fulfilling most of those duties

I take this as a sign of Gorton being the one who does everything behind doors and the GM is the guy who deals with the Media. Perfect plan.

i play hockey off McCowan rd lol. north york's fun.

and i came out of a game once and heard a kid go

"Wow thats a loud slapshot"

That aint no slapshot there my dude.

McCowan is firmly in Scarborough though. Both have places you really don't want to be.

When I saw your first comment I was a little confused, but now it makes sense, in the Maritimes the small communities are the nicer ones compared to the big city’s. I live in a friendly town of about 1k or something like that, and the communities close to us aren’t that big either. The number of stories I hear from people I know who live in big city’s are special to say the least.

Place like Moncton and Saint-John are probably the worst, and the downtown area is even worse.

Don’t let the big city’s ruin our image.

Went out east in 2009 and the people in the small towns were really nice. Found the cities okay; we didn't spend a ton of time in Moncton/Saint John/Halifax though.

Magnetic hill was hilarious though for all the wrong reasons.

Yep, that way, we still have a bilingual person for the media and a great GM group

Gorton essentially built the Bruins core that won the 2011 cup in a single offseason, then got canned and watched as Chairelli and Benning got the credit for it.

Felt like he was on the right track with the Rangers until his falling out with Dolan. He'll do fine in Montreal.

Yeah. I think the main goal of Gorton this year should just be to play it out, and slightly sell, than in the offseason, choose to either rebuild, or go for it

I’m not familiar with Darche, but Montréal’s cap management has been good, and John Sedgwick is still with the team as the Vice-President of Hockey Operations & Legal Affairs or “capologist”.

The habs will need to hire or promote someone to the role that Timmins left to handle the amateur scouting.

I was listening to the 32 Thoughts Podcast, and Friedman says that Dolan gave Drury $4 million per year, which is part of what lead to the contact divide between Bergevin & Molson. So not only did Dolan hire a bad GM, but he also threw a ridiculous amount of money at him too.

"I'm not bilingual, but I try my best"

that was months ago

And they're asking for "proficiency in both languages", not imperatively bilingualism
