Sounds like Perreault tried for USA so maybe that’s why Canada left him off their roster. Savoie kinda makes sense, Canada doesn’t generally bring too many underagers and the best one this year is Wright, with Bedard also getting an invite, so that’s kinda the extent of the youth contingent. Missing Clarke and Ceulemans is completely unacceptable unless there’s something major we don’t know, those should be our top 2 RD. Othmann is kind of a surprise (as is L’Heureux) but Canada’s so deep that only one of those really had a shot at the 4LW spot anyway, so it’s not too out of the ordinary to see a fringe guy or two not make the cut. The way I’d see it with this roster is:

They’ve already got Guenther, Neighbours, and Cossa for elite talent, adding a top pair blueliner can’t hurt. Looks to me like they’re making a memorial cup run. They’ve also got some other interesting NHL picks in Luypen, Demek, and Prokop. Personally I was hoping for more from Latimer but it seems like he’s just depth this year.

Debrusk is officially requesting a trade according to TSN - teams like Habs, Nucks, Flames, Arizona, basically a ton of teams are interested.

Maybe Erik Johnson? I’m pretty sure he was the last guy to go back to junior/college (in his case, like Power, it was college iirc) after being taken 1oa, so presumably he would’ve played at the WJC that year as well.

No Clarke, no Ceulemans, no Wisdom, no Tourigny, no Johnston, no Wiesblatt, no L’Heureux, no Othmann, etc. Canada went off the board. No Ufko or Doan for the US either

Excited to see what Lukas Cormier can do, he’ll probably play on his off side with Power.

The forwards for Canada aren’t a huge deal given how deep we are (those guys are all in a tier with like, Bourque, Stankoven, current Bedard, Roy, etc.) but only bringing two RHD to camp, and one of them being Iorio (who probably doesn’t make the cut?) is unacceptable when you have arguably 2 of the top 3 RHD in the tournament (after Niemela, and excluding Drysdale, Clarke and Ceulemans are probably the next two best eligible RHD prospects tbh).

How is iorio. Is he ok. What’s he like

I am looking forward to watching Power. I've seen a couple of Michigan games and he is a lot of fun to watch.

Joshua Roy + Kayden Guhle for MTL. Team looks good

I mean he’s good, he’s a mobile 2-way guy that just seems to be pretty good at everything, spectacular at nothing. I just don’t think he cracks even the top 7 of guys invited (Power, Guhle, Cormier, Lambos, Thompson, O’Rourke, Zellweger) and he’s obviously not close to Clarke and Ceulemans. I’d be surprised if he made the team off merit, but being one of only two right shot defensemen invited gives him an advantage so maybe he makes it.

The forward choices are interesting but there aren't any huge snubs or misses mainly due to our forward depth, however, no Ceulemans or Clarke is dumb, they're your 2 best RD's

Will he be a top 4 or 2 guy in the nhl

Shesterkin (NYR) - G - Without him they aren’t winning anything

Yeah we know the big names are missing: but Ovi is arguably the most shocking explosion this year; he’s playing so damn good at that age, Shesterkin is the reason the Rangers are actually positive; without him they’re adding 5+ L’s to their record, and Campbell has been more than ever dreamed of for the Leafs.
