Almost all teams say no

Avs are in win-now mode (that’s one hell of a package though)

Trouba won’t waive and he doesn’t fit the Isle’s system

LA says yes

Florida says no because they don’t have space for Lundkvist

Probably a little much for Turcotte. I'd say Miller + one 2nd is a fair return.

I'd be charmed to exchange Turcotte for Miller and your 2022 second.

If you say the name MacKinnon, Sakic would not even listen. You can offer the entire rangers lineup at 50% retained with every draft pick for the next 50 years and they would hang up the phone on you. Especially with the offer you put, nobody wants krappo kakko, an unprovened laf, a decent player in chytil, a prospect that did not make your lineup so he whines and doesnt play, and a late 1st rounder for the 2nd best player in hockey. That trade makes no sense man

Before trouba says no bc hes only playing for the rangers, Lou blocks drurys number. Why the hell would he trade a young sniper and a cheap 4/5 RHD for a cap dump.

But if they did fall off this year, Rangers would be logical place to send him.

They probably won't trade him. But every superstar that gets traded is described shortly before as someone who won't get traded. So you never know.

And Rangers, of course, would be logical destination. One of the games biggest stars on the world's biggest stage. The big stars always want to come here.

He has 0 ties to New York, anyone playing on that roster, no one in the front office.
What Mackinnon cares about winning and cementing his legacy with a cup win. Rangers can not offer that, you are a flawed team and are very very far off from being a cup contender.

Unless you magically become one, mackinnon wouldnt care about New York

I disagree. Gretzky didn't have ties to New York. Messier didn't have ties to New York. Jagr, Panarin, Gartner, Dionne, Lafleur, Esposito...all the big stars want to play in New York. None of those guys had previous ties here.

This is Mackinnon who I am talking about, not guys who played in the 70s to 90s.
and just for the record Gretzky signed with the Rangers bc of Messier, and hes quoted on that, get your ducks in a row

Esposito, Messier, Gartner, and Jagr got traded there, you know that right? And Lafleur was basically brought in because Messier and the GM really liked his play, not because he wanted to be in a big city. Hell, Gretzky seemingly was only there to go cup chasing right before his retirement, as he did in St Louis. Panarin is the only one listed that actually wanted that, so this arguement isn't really true. Just saying someone wants to go to New York doesn't prove or really mean anything.

So, if we sign Crosby late his career, maybe it brings MacKinnon. I think it is strange you are just assuming New York is out for MacKinnon.

Other than Colorado, I could see his list being: New York, Toronto, Los Angeles and Vegas. Maybe Detroit if they improve over next couple of seasons.

I think its strange that you are making up a fake conversation about mackinnon being traded bc the avs dont wnat to compete for the cup anymore.

I am just responding to the other guy saying we are a flawed team and MacKinnon wouldn't care about New York. My point is that historically, New York has been a popular destination for many stars. Its weird to say no New York for anyone in NHL.

Trade or Free Agency. He has one and half years left on his current contract. So maybe he doesn't get traded, but he will be UFA in 20 months.

And there isnt one indication from him, report, rumour, etc that he doesnt want to extend in Colorado, its actually the opposite ihm talking about how he would rather sign for less in Colorado to win with this group of guys.

Seriously man hes not going to the Rangers bc you are telling yourself that everyone wants to play for them.

You said that stars want to go to NY but then proceeded to list 4 players that were traded there and had no say, 2 that where brought in not by the city but instead by Mark Messier, and one that actually had an attraction to a big city. Of course it would be weird to say no if they offer you the most money or trade you, but neither of these are realistic here. TO say that New York has historically a popular destination for stars doesn't logically check out, as you could simply say the same about Montreal or Detroit, while it not being correct. Correlation does not equal causation in this instance.

We magically became a cup contender a while ago. Colorado is 17th in NHL-wide standings. Rangers are in 7th (6th in Pt %).

We are more of a contender than the Avs at this point.
