There is a thing I don’t agree with at all in this post, and that’s what you said about Zach Kassian. Kassian is a good player, but yes a little bit overpaid. We will probably have to move him soon, depending on what Holland is going to do with our team. Kassian has 5 points in 13 games this season, which is better than last season as he got 5 points in 27 games. I believe if given the chance, he could get 20-30 points again. He is a fan favourite, big guy who protects star players if he plays with them. He is pretty decent defensively I would say. He really does hit! Do you watch the games, and look up the stats? He has 27 hits in 13 games this year… that’s pretty decent. If he plays a full season, he will get a lot of hits, and probably around 20-30 points again.

With Barrie only 1.2M$ more than kassian and twice as good (same age too) why would his return only be maybe 10-15 spots high in the draft all told...

Why

You really should elaborate here

That's a nice return for Murphy and given his UFA status and chicago not doing great to put it lightly... flipping him for futures seems like a good idea

Of players up for sale, Kassian would be one that could make sense for the Sharks next season (not this season). We have lots of youngsters coming up (especially Eklund, Robins, and Bordeleau), and the last thing we need is for a player from LA or Vegas to set them back with injuries from cheap shots. His cap hit is a bit high but then again so is Brandon Tanev and Barclay Goodrow, and in the Pacific physical bottom sixers who can put up points and protect teammates are a necessity. Not sure what the fair trade value would be (ideally, we'd like to keep enough cap to re-sign Meier after next season), but it's worth discussing.

if we can get more than that for Barrie sign me up lmao. i just don't see it happening. Kassians likely valued high-ish by other GMs because of his physicality which is why I have it that way.

Maybe its because he has been? if u actually watch the games and don't just look at box car stats you would probably know that lol. 37.14 GF% (Percentage of Goals For you are on the ice for and against at 5v5) and 43.3 xGF% (Percentage of Expected Goals For you are on the ice for and against at 5v5).

Hahaha! I just have to say something. One thing is, I 100% disagree with you on Kassian. He also has been coming off injury’s when playing some games. But you say “if you actually watch the games and don’t just look at box car stats you would know”. But then you just post his GF%? Isn’t that stats, that you said not to look at, and watch the games? I like Kassian, and he is producing at a decent amount. And he is hitting quite a bit too!

Maybe, but your comment was pretty funny. You say watch the games, then post that. I think you are so wrong about Kassian, but that’s just my opinion. I feel like we have to move him, because he makes 3.2M, and we will need that. Also, who is looking at boxcar stats?
