I’m confused why you would attach a 1st and a good prospect to “cut your losses” on a guy that returns a 1st round pick in his own right.

Kuzma is a decent insider, though all he really said was Min called. Fiala being involved was pure speculation on his part.

If I HAD to do a deal around Miller and Fiala (I don't think we should), I would do this one. I would be willing to retain some as well.

I used the Mantha trade as a basis. Miller is better than Mantha. @jnowariak

I don’t see Nucks wanting salaried player coming back. They have cap issues next year.

If they trade Miller it will likely be for a 1st and prospects.

I don't know if Benning would want to retain salary but that could be a huge factor to getting him for the Wild.

they could flip Fiala in the summer for futures if they wanted. I think this trade is a huge overpay for Wild already.

I know this is a huge overpay but wanted to suggest something different that VAN might actually say yes to unlike the other trades Wild fans are proposing.

Not that much…

This is approaching Eichel territory.

That’s the problem though. VAN fans don’t have an objective POV here. If you’re using the Mantha deal as a comp, the 1st was for eating 3 years of the Panik contract and the 2nd was for the difference between Mantha and his contract certainty.

That’s always a lazy answer to a bad concept. “Take this guy you don’t want and flip him rather than just trade for what you want to begin with so my trade works.”

Better idea you trade Fiala for whatever, then trade for Miller. Nucks will have plenty of options if they move JT. They’ll get what they want without having to make multiple moves to do it.

I am in favour for trading Fiala for futures, Miller won't bring this team a cup. Just hopping on the trend right now that Fiala could be in play for Miller.

Thing is, I don’t see the down side for VAN by getting Fiala ON TOP of the 1st and prospect.

idk a late first and an unpredictable russian prospect. Khus has not been that good this year as well. Although, I'm just hopping on the Fiala for Miller bandwagon, at the end of the day the right trade for the Wild is trading Fiala for futures.

Not true at all. 0.37 ppg as a 19 year old in the KHL is solid. Go look up some comparables, if you’re not familiar with scoring rates in that league for that age.

That’s also the right trade for Van and JT, futures. At this point though Boesser seems more likely to go than Miller.

I’m relatively high on Marat. He’s 20 and playing regularly for the best team in the K, you’re getting an NHL player out of him. As for the 1st, my Mantha logic still holds and we aren’t in the position to sell 1sts right now.

But I agree futures are the way to go. I want at least a 1st and Marat type package if it’s in season, I think Fiala still very much helps this team. You can drop the price in the off season IMO.

I remember hearing Russo saying he's kind of been struggling this year.

If he said that, I would argue he doesn’t really know what he’s talking about in that regard. Here’s a link for reference. Sort by ppg and you’ll get a sense of comps. Obviously there’s more to the story than just points, but that’s a baseline reference point:

I would retain 50% though I'm not JB
