Description
It's time to accept that mtl needs a rebuild. Why would we be the only team in the league that can't rebuild? I'd rather commit to rebuilding than trying to compete and sucking anyway

What's the deal with trading our leaders for worse players? DeMelo isn't half the player Petry is, and Larsson is redundant especially if you have Savard benched.

Leave it to MTL fans to make some insane one sided trades. Why in the world would the Avs pay a premium d prospect AND a 2nd rd pick for a 29 yr old winger that they didn’t even talk to when he was a FA? Toffoli maybe MAYBE gets you a 1st rd pick he doesn’t get you a premium prospect AND a pick. Hard no by the Avs.

Definite no from Winnipeg. Even with retention, Petry's contract is too much for far too long to consider. Especially when you want a 1st plus a good defenseman in return.

our "leaders" have brought us virtually nothing except a lucky cup run. Do you see these players (gally, petry, toff) as difference-makers for the next 5-10 years? If not, they should be available to trade in a rebuild

They should be available for trades that are worth destroying the team's atmosphere & young players mentoring. DeMelo and Larsson aren't quite the pieces.

Kassian for Drouin isn't a bad idea, but why would Edmonton add? Based on NHLe Savoie is ahead of where Caufield was last year, and he was ahead in their D+1 seasons too. Savoie + 2nd has more value than Caufield, do you really think that's the difference between Drouin and Kassian? I know you think Kassian is a cap dump, but he's every bit as good as Drouin and costs $2M less annually, but apparently Drouin has more value than Caufield... awesome face

Price has serious issues which have been affecting his play over the past 4 seasons, no idea why you think Edmonton would give up a great prospect like Bourgault and a pick for him. He's been below average 3 if the past 4 seasons and isn't even playing at the moment, he's 34 and has FOUR years left at $5.5M with your retention.
