Engvall and Ritchie have little to no value. That is basically Severson for a first plus negative assets to NJD, which is an easy no. I do like Crouse though

dont really think SEA wants Holl, but the price is meh.

The other two deals are probably non-starters as the leafs aren;t giving up much.

Crouse is no great player but a 27 yr old UFA forward who cant score and a 3rd a yr away?

Severson with TWO years of retention is worth far more than a 1st and an unproductive bottom 6 27 yr old UFA and Ritchie (who has value but not at 2.5mil)

Ok we add Axel Rindell. I think that’s fair for NJD.

Crouse would fit perfectly on the 3rd line. Hard checking forward who can put in rebound goals and make it hard on the goalie

I like Rindell quite a bit but he isnt NHL ready and New Jersey is trying to compete. They arent going to trade a core part of their defense group for a pick that does nothing for them, Ritchie who hasnt been much to write home about so far, and Engvall who is only in the Leafs lienup due to injury. Still a no

Yes Crouse would look good in TOR, but offer some value, not Mikheyev and a 3rd in 2023

Take out Ritchie and Engvall.
Replace with Niemela or Sandin.
Then add Holl in lieu of the retention.

Something like that.

Its a tall price, but NJD is being asked to tear out a core piece just as they are hitting their stride as a team.
And 2 seasons of retention.
Gotta be worthwhile.
