What's your offer for Toffoli?

For the MIN players, Marcus Foligno can be crossed off that list. There is no intersection between what teams would be willing to pay and what MIN would accept. He simply wouldn’t be worth the price tag. Fiala is definitely available though.

Of those, Toffoli or Kempe makes sense. Fiala is an RFA needing a big deal, Calgary would have a tough time with that next year, Muzzin, Martinez come into an already crowded left side at way too much money for less production than Calgary is getting out of the 2LD spot already, Pearson deal isn't great and Reaves is more of the same for the Flames already.

Minnesota isn't trading Marcus foligno under any circumstances. Toronto isn't trading Jake muzzle. Vegas isn't trading Alec Martinez. Rangers aren't trading Ryan reaves.

I like the fit of Martinez in CGY but I doubt he has much interested in waiving his NTC to play in Canada.

Problem with trading Fiala to Calgary is that it sounds like we're only open to trading him for a center (according to Russo's latest podcast) and Guerin isn't interested in Monahan and Calgary isn't moving Lindholm for him. I just don't see a fit there

I really like the idea of Fiala in Calgary. Unfortunatly with MIN wanting a C for him I don't see him wanting Backlund or Monahan in return, and Lindholm isn't getting moved.

Yeah agree, Calgary doesn’t seem like a great fit unless Guerin is open to a more futures-centric package. If the C is truly required, then I don’t see us dealing with them.

As an aside though, I’m not overly confident that Russo’s being all that objective about the situation. He insists that it needs to be a C and a money-in money-out move, but both of those aren’t necessarily true. I don’t doubt that he knows more than us average fans, but I’m not convinced he has a full inside scoop. Seems like hes just confirming what his bias already suspected based on his own CapFriendly research.

Why Martinez and Muzzin? We don't need them

Yeah I don't necessarily think it has to be a money-in money-out move. Guerin wants to build this team through drafting and developing so I find it hard to believe he'd turn down a pick(s) in what is supposed to be one of the better draft classes the past few years.

One thing I will say about Russo is that he doesn't throw **** at the wall and hopes it sticks. He is prone to speculating, though, and that may be the case here.

Kempe isn't available. He's currently the 1RW for the Kings on a team-friendly deal and he's an RFA. You won't want to pay what he costs.

No he’s not really a pot stirrer in that sense, but he also doesn’t really differentiate between his reporting mode and his shoot the breeze with LaPanta mode. Like his most recent worst seats, he was a couple Bloody Mary’s deep and all over the place with his thoughts. “Fiala will be traded. Hey there’s Dane Mizutani! Oh Margot, this is my second bloody! What was I saying, Anthony?”

I think is a setting like that, it’s just hard to know if he’s 100% speculating or if he actually has some intel but just needs to dance around it. My hunch is it’s mostly the former, but I have no real basis for that. Just my instinct.

Half of these are pretty insignificant or unnecessary adds, the other half are quite unrealistic
