Way, way too much for these two. I think this would set us back for a long time with no top 6 center in our system and Miller likely walking in free agency since we'll have no money to extend him

Yeah, even for a fake "haha who cares let's go all in" proposal, it's still a huge overpayment.

what if we switch boeser for pettersson? any closer
If you think those are fair I can't wait to see what kind of return the Wild get for Fiala.
Miller was traded as a .5PPG player for a first and a third. He's now very close to a PPG player, and his cap hit will be half of what it was when he was originally traded. Swapping Addison for the third seems reasonable given the context.
Even though he's struggling this season (as is almost the entire team) Brock is still a great young winger, entering his prime who's career PPG is comparable to Svechnikov and Connor. A future first and blue chip doesn't seem that far off.

Yeah and Fiala is more productive than Boeser, and just as productive as Miller, while driving play better, and doing all of that with far worse linemates, so I'm looking forward to what kind of blue chip prospect we can get on top of a 1st in return for him.

Millers PPG since coming to the Canucks is 0.97. Fialas in the same time is 0.8. Miller sometimes gets good line mates, other times he's stuck dragging around plugs like Vesey or a Petterson that looks like an AHL player.
Miller at 50% retained this deadline is a PPG player, at just over a 2.5mil cap hit for 2 playoffs. I would say there's maybe only 1 or 2 players like that not on ELCs.
Boeser and Fiala are close in PPG but I would wager Boeser still has that elite pedigree from his rookie season kicking around.
