Adding Gio and his big contract makes no sense - Leafs do NOT need LD - ESPECIALLY at the cost of an RD which is where the Leafs need the help.

Ritchie is a cap dump to Detroit. Zero interest in him and definitely not giving up any asset for him. Even as a cap dump, it'd have to be worth our time. Hard pass.

Honestly, I only got DET there because of their cap space and they were the first ones that came to mind. Dont see them having any interest in Ritchie at all, it was more or less of just trying to show how shedding cap could bring in Gio

Actually it's a terrible "defence" scenario for the Leafs. Trading two NHL Dmen for one, and not having an NHL 7th Dman. Ritchie just can't be wished away.
