Bad idea and a really bad trade. Giving up a 1st for a 37 year old should get a GM fired.

You can't buyout anyone now, there's no buyouts allowed until the summer shortly before free agency starts.

A better idea would be to simply use him in an appropriate role...like the 3rd line for example.
