If this trade was offered last year, I would’ve been like “are u high” 😂😂😂. Thompson and Asplund have really come out of nowhere

I just don't know why we need to do this, Asplund looks great this season.

Really like Grans. We could use a talent like him for RHD next year. Kupari is a good replacement and having Quinn, Peterka, Krebs, Weissbach, Murray, and others coming up it makes a deal like this possible.

Sorry, but I just don't see the point in doing this. They have a core to build on. Asplund has been in the club system for a long time, it took a long time to come to this, he looks good. I'm not saying that Kupari or Grans are bad players, but I just don't see the point in trading Asplund. Yes, we need RD, but not in this way. There will be many good RDs in the summer draft, there is Joki, Pysyk can be re-signed, one of Dahlin, Bryson or Samuelsson will probably play RD next season, there are many options. I just don't want to trade Asplund.

Asplund - Thompson - Olofsson line was very efficient, it was better in all respects than Skinner - Thompson - Olofsson line. I hope Granato brings this line back.

I don't know the value of Grans, but maybe trade one of our prospect LD for Grans made more sense, at least for me.

Ryan Johnson maybe. I think he's a better prospect than Grans tho. Maybe do Johnson + Laaksonen for Grans + Kupari?

I absolutely hate olofsson on thompsons line, adding skinner just makes it worse.

The real question is why. Laaksonen and Grans is a wash right now. Asplund is better than Kupari

Why? I think the Asplund -Thompson - Olofsson line was great until Olofsson was injured, but Skinner and Olofsson are different players. Victor is constantly progressing at ES, while Skinner plays his way, he is too one-dimensional a player. I don’t understand why Granato trusts him so much, he is absolutely useless at PP, but he plays there, he should not be released at all at important moments of the game, especially in the end when we are in our zone.

Kupari has a high offensive ceiling while being a much better defensive forward than Aslpund. Grans is miles better than Laaksonen in every category other than maybe skating ability.

Asplund is losing runway in the top 9 with Krebs, Peterka, Quinn and others coming up. Just a move that helps needs and facilities roster position for players coming in.

Well all I can say is that Asplund and Laaksonen are producing offense at better or similar rates in pro North American leagues. So again, its basically a lateral move. If Grans and Kupari are much better than Asplund and Laaksonen, why would LA make the trade?
