VAN is not moving Boeser. Miller would be the first one to go if they do move someone.

I don't think Edmonton is desperate enough for 30-point wingers to give a 1st+.

Where did u invent 30pt? He’s 45-50pt winger who’s elite defensively at 1.8 mill for 1.5 years.

38 points per 82 games. Not sure where the 40-50 is from?

43pts in 71
35pts in 56
9pts in 13 games

Those are his ottawa numbers . I’m not counting the leafs numbers where they didn’t give him playing time.

Also he’s deployed in the defensive zone like 70% of the time and still puts up these numbers. His takeaway rate is super high and has gotten selke votes

His 0.46 P/GP over the past 4 years puts him 210th in the league among forwards. That's 3rd line production... good luck getting a 1st + a prospect for a 3rd line winger.

Yes let’s count his Toronto numbers when he was playing behind Marner, Nylander and Kapanen 🤡 . Lmao. Only thing that matters is what he has done lately not 4 years ago

That's the difference between a good team like the Leafs and Oilers and a lottery team like the Sens.

He'd be behind at least 2 of Puljujarvi, Yamamoto, Bourgault and Kassian in Edmonton, so the Leafs numbers are likely more accurate than getting prime time in Ottawa.

Lmao. Have fun with that. He’s deployed mostly defensively , has been putting up 51pts per 82 games with Ottawa and he’s elite defensively . Someone will for sure pay a 1st . Keep saying random things . If Toronto had Connor Brown as their 3rd liner they’d be a contender

Sure, bud. Keep him then.

Look, I don't hate the player, he's just worth a 1st + a prospect to Edmonton. They have a full suite of wingers already plus guys like Savoie, Tullio, Petrov and Bourgault who will be pushing soon. Edmonton has areas of need that they could to use the first to address, meh winger isn't one of them.

What a totally disingenuous argument. You can't just ignore the fact that he's been a 23 goal, 50 point player over his time in Ottawa by lumping in the time he spent as a 4th line PK guy getting no opportunity to play offensive roles in Toronto. He's a top 6 forward who can play all situations, and at 1.8mil for the rest of this year plus next, he's easily worth a 1st +. Every bit as valuable a player as Coleman was when that trade happened, only difference was that Coleman could kind of play C but not really.

Edit: you're being even more ridiculous, because your 33.75 number doesn't even factor in games played. 28 and 29 points in 82 games is much different than 43 in 71 and 35 in 56

I’m just a big believer in having an elite 3rd line like Hagelin-Bonino-Kessel Coleman-Gourde-Goodrow etc. Connor Brown is literally Coleman 2.0

Love Brown. But in general, I just don't see why Holland would be interested in using the 1st on anything but a big LHD or to solidify the goalie situation for longer term. The Oilers' biggest holes rn are not really in the top 9 forwards, except maybe at 3C (unless McLeod keeps going like he is - then even that is fine).

3rd line has looked good lately with McLeod back up and going well, just depends if it works out long term. But if you're thinking Brown would be brought in to shore up a 3rd line wing spot and make the bottom 6 better, that sounds nice, but I don't see that as a priority worth spending a 1st on when LD was already needing a bit of support before 3 injuries to it, and with goaltending relying on an unpredictable Koskinen and a wonderful but extremely green Skinner for the foreseeable future.

Which is why he would be put on the 3rd line. But spending a 1st on a 3rd line winger/player is a pill i dont want to swallow.
But I always liked the player.
Cost is just to high.

Honestly I kinda wish Edmonton was in position to make that trade I don’t hate the idea biggest problem I have is oilers already have yam who is somewhat comparable enough to lessen the need for a brown. Very strong defensively pitch in some offence. Using a first to address something we already have isn’t fitting rather use the first to address more of a need. That being said I wouldn’t be against the idea of some kind of swap between yam and brown obviously in this situation first wouldn’t be anywhere close to being in play.

He'd be one of Edmonton's six best forwards. He's way better than Kassian or Yamamoto as the other winger in the top six and it's not remotely close.

Idk if EDM is running 97 or 29 together or apart right now, but Connor Brown can be a great benefit for any situation.
