He'd be one of Edmonton's six best forwards. He's way better than Kassian or Yamamoto as the other winger in the top six and it's not remotely close.

Idk if EDM is running 97 or 29 together or apart right now, but Connor Brown can be a great benefit for any situation.

The Oil need a LHD and a proven starting goalie more than a 6th best forward. So if a 1st was spent on a 6th best forward, and not put all in for those other positions of greater need, Holland would be misusing his assets.

I love Brown, but this is why the trade makes no sense to me for what the team needs now.

I guess that leaves Holloway out of the picture where he is supposed to be up around the halfway point after he is healed. Minus Savoie as well when college is done where he is burning it up.

I’ve heard Holloway is a centre and good defensively. Plug him at 3C lol

McLeod is really doing good there. Not sure where he will play, its a big difference between oiler fans. 50% want him to play center and 50% want wing with McDavid. So who knows. But either way he should be on the roster soon.

More young European players that struggle in good leagues should come to the AHL right away. I don’t know why they don’t do this

Connor Brown at $1.8m would unquestionably get a 1st in return. Sometimes people look too long at point totals.

What a totally disingenuous argument. You can't just ignore the fact that he's been a 23 goal, 50 point player over his time in Ottawa by lumping in the time he spent as a 4th line PK guy getting no opportunity to play offensive roles in Toronto. He's a top 6 forward who can play all situations, and at 1.8mil for the rest of this year plus next, he's easily worth a 1st +. Every bit as valuable a player as Coleman was when that trade happened, only difference was that Coleman could kind of play C but not really.

Edit: you're being even more ridiculous, because your 33.75 number doesn't even factor in games played. 28 and 29 points in 82 games is much different than 43 in 71 and 35 in 56

You conveniently ignoring what I posted based on P/GP? And his usage in Edmonton will be more similar to Toronto, not Ottawa.

Yeah cuz Edmonton is so stacked with 50pt players, he won’t play much 🤡

You're forgetting something: Connor Brown is not a 50 point player either. tears of joy

50+ pt pace the last 3 years. But no you wanna count the year before that (4 years ago btw) to discredit him. And he plays most of his minutes on the PK and with faceoffs in the defensive zone against the other teams top lines. Even more freaking impressive. Keep hating tho

Not hating. Just stating the facts. And multiple people have told you that Edmonton would rather save its bullets for a priority. 3rd line winger isn't that.

Don’t worry keep your bottom 6 plugs and ask yourself why you went nowhere in the playoffs. 2pts in 15 games. 3pts in 11 games. 2pts In 8 games. 1pt in 16 games. 1pt in 10 games. 5pts in 19 games. Yeah that bottom 6 is for sure gonna cut it lmao. I’m not even counting Kassian who’s for sure going to regress and no one would even trade for him

If Oilers do anything it will be for a 3rd line center.
But McLeod is starting to finally figure it out. But we have time, so we will see.
Other than that we need a legit goalie IMO
