On Horvat - I like his defensive game. He can also play at high speed, so might gel with Panarin. I also like how would make this lineup much more versatile. We will be able to move pieces around, ie, play Strome or Chytil at wing or center.
On Georgiev - I don't think he is that much better that Kinkaid or Wall right now. And is a bit overpaid.
On Lindholm- we need one more top-4 d-man. Miller is good enough some nights, but is really bad other nights. I think he is bottom-pair until he cuts down on the mistakes. Jones or Robertson may eventually get there. But for this year, and hopefully next 2-3 years, it would be ideal to add a veteran top-4 LD to this lineup. Getzlaf is just a bonus.
yes, horvat is good, im not saying he isnt, but he wouldnt significantly upgrade the team, at least not to the level of 2 top prospects and two 2nds. id rather just have the 2nd line we have now, schneider, the picks, and maybe even kravtsov for the future than throwing away a significant amount of assets to have a slightly better top 6.
i think we're all overrating kinkaid rn, he would certainly be an upgrade. its not like we're gonna get anything for georgiev, and its not like he actively hurts the team, so unless we get a good replacement then we should just keep him, maybe sign him to a cheaper contract next year if he rebounds.
thats a ridiculous price to pay to slightly, and temporarily, upgrade our top 4. our two next 1sts, two of our best prospects, and a decent, but overpayed, shutdown dman. even with getzlaf its not worth it at all. i
