Description

Okay... not quite Courtnall for Kordic but would either of the GMs or any fan go for this??

Nylander has significantly more skill than Anderson. Nylander is on pace for 30 goals this season and scored 31 in the shortened season of 68 games. He is fast, plays the wing and is also a good center man but is 3" shorter and typically shies away from the physical stuff.

Anderson hits, is hard in the forecheck like Hyman and is on pace for 18 goals...a little over half of Nylander's. Should be able to be counted on to score near 20 a season.

This would help Montreal in the skill + scoring department and the Leafs in top 6 aggressiveness for the playoffs.

PLUS for playoff depth add an aggressive LH dman Chiarot on expiring UFA contract but have to give up a younger LH dman Dermott with another year before still being team controlled with RFA status.

I feel this is balanced value-wise but...

Do you seriously feel this is good in terms of value? You cannot actually think that, right? Nylander has been lights out the best forward for the last few months, while Anderson and Chiarot have been pretty bad

Montreal easily accepts, Nylander is miles ahead of Anderson and Chiarot you can't afford to resign when his deal expires, there's no way Toronto would do this deal, however, they might do a trade around Chiarot @50% for Dermott+

I think previously I saw where Canadien fans didn't want it. I am curious if that is still the case. No disrespect to Anderson but the games I have watched with Montreal he doesn't seem to be making a consistent impact. I was kind of hoping they could give me some honest feedback.

Like you said though...Nylander has been light out most nights

I am not trying to rub salt in any wounds that our Montreal fans might have while observing how Bergeron has handled things but I feel when looking at Gallagher and Price, etc to top dollar deals at their ages and then Anderson, Suzuki, etc to what appears to be overpays is what I have felt like as a Leaf fan...but Montreal actually feels worse.

I might be off in my perspective and they might feel it's okay
