I've seen like 10 posts where different teams want to take Hornqvist's deal. That tells me it won't cost anything to dump his deal as there is demand for him

The names don't really matter my point was just that the Canucks should use all the remaining cap space to acquire cap dumps for assets

Vancouver SHOULD be committing to a rebuild (not convinced they will), and if they do they should absolutely be taking as many of those types of deals as the can, especially with two strong drafts coming up.

I like it, especially the optimism about Wright!

Maybe an unpopular opinion but the Canucks should NOT rebuild. At most a small retool. They have very good pieces but the problem is in the management, start there and if it doesnt work then rebuild.

I kinda agree. I still think they should trade Horvat and Miller, build up their prospect pool. Basically, just punt on next season and if all goes to plan they should be looking at legit contenders the season after that. I wouldn't look to trade Garland, Boeser, or anyone else tho.

Maybe for the caps deal. If it was boeser than I would definitely do that

Miller I'd trade him because realistically only one of him and Boeser kind be re-signed and Miller's play is insane right now so yeah trade him while he's hot. Horvat is younger and the captain so he's the guy I'd keep if I were the GM.

I think if you want to win now, Miller is probably more valuable to you guys.

I'm not sure we would be able to move Myers and gain assets.

retaining 3 mil on Myers isn't smart as much as I don't like the guy. Can you replace him for 3 mil? prob not.

I don't think giving up Lapierre is in the cards for us. We'd be more inclined to give up another first than him, the organization is super high on him and he showed a lot of potential in his short showing this year.

Horvat at 50% is much different than injured Eichel making 10m, and you're still adding multiple top picks/prospects

And what does that have to do with Schneider? I didn't say the Rangers wouldn't trade for Horvat, I said they would not trade Schneider.

Rangers have been very very clear to everyone that Schneider is untouchable. Rangers see him very valuable.

      Drury doesn't say anything.
Like I said, they were not going to include Schneider +++++ for hurt Eichels 10m. That does not mean untouchable.
Have high hopes for the kid, but he's not getting in the way of a cup. You're talking about acquiring a guy that checks a lot of boxes, plus 50% retention?
