I’d probably just keep Bear for that

I hope we pass on this. That is too much for a guy who we already have someone filling the spot.

Not getting that much for a rental, especially from CAR.

Klingberg, going on 30yrs old, wants $7.75-8.25M x 8. The Canes didn’t come close to offering 28yr old Hamilton that much, and Hamilton is a much better player. Bear likely costs half of Klingberg’s ask to re-sign long term, then they could use the rest to re-sign DeAngelo. So, would I rather have 26yr old DeAngelo and 24yr old Bear signed for roughly the same cap hit or 30yr old Klingberg…hmmm, that’s a tough one. And, if I re-up DeAngelo and Bear, I don’t have to trade Suzuki plus a 1st too.

It's a first + prospect which is fair.

I added Bear because cap needs to balance.

This is terrible for CAR. AD might now be the most moral person, but thats a sunk cost. He's still a better PP qb than Klinger.

Canes don’t pay rental prices, so to them, it’s awful value. I highly doubt any team pays such a price.

I’d be happy with Bear and a pick/prospect. Klinger would be a point machine in Carolina’s system

Klingberg should not be returning a 1st.... not without a reasonable extension sub 6 mil in place.

Coming with an extension would be a must.

Klingberg i much better than Foligno and Savard who both returned firsts.

Canes might not do it but if he's made available a first is definitely on the table.

Foligno is a forward and was a captain. That was an overpayment acknowledged by even Dubas on All or Nothing. Savard is a very good comparison though

I didn't watch all or nothing but that's interesting.

Firsts get tossed around like candy on Halloween at the deadline.

Exactly, Toronto thought that they just needed some leadership, that's why they wanted Foligno so badly. That... uh, backfired.
