The first 4 trades are just bad for the Habs, especially the Petry and Allen/Chiatot trades. The following tweaks should be made for the Habs to consider trading their players.

Drouin (preferably not for sale as he has been great the last 3 years) 22 or 23 top 10 protected 1st especially with retention.

Petry (not really for sale) 22 unprotected 1st + 2nd + top prospect (this year has been expensive to acquire/sign defensemen)

Toffoli 22 top 10 protected 1st + 3rd or good prospect, alternatively 2023 1st top 5 protected.

Hoffman 2 2nds or 2nd + good prospect

Allen + Chiarot (both retained, keep Ylonen) 22 1st + 23 1st both unprotected + 3rd or decent prospect. Remember it is a defenseman market and Savard returned 1st + 3rd last TDL an Chiarot is the better of the 2.

Blues likely don't make that trade as Perunovich has been great

Of course Buffalo, also famously rebuilding, isn't doing that.

First of all, Perunovich either already has more value or will in about two weeks. Secondly, that trade goes directly against the Blues' needs. Less than zero chance.

if kadri is signing for that little, hes not leaving the Avs, that would be the ideal contract in a fantasy world for the Avs

What are Buffalo needs for making the playoffs next year, RW = Toffoli and RHD = Brook?
Late first and a prospect picked late in the second round.
While I think building through the draft is the best path to follow, this trade makes sense for Buffalo.
@Campabee thinks it is a bad trade and the two Sabre ACGM dislikes the trade.
Buffalo line up next year:
Skinner Cozens Tuch
Olofsson Thompson Toffoli
Asplund Mittelstadt Quinn
Bjork Girgensons Okposo
Scratched Krebs.

I just think there is slightly too little value back to Montreal, Toffoli should get about that value on his own. Adding Brook is unnecessary as we have an organizational need for RHD, that being said adding a 3rd or 4th evens out the deal IMO

I guess I was speaking to the two dissenting Sabre ACGM's.
They all say no to every trade unless it is Miller for first, or some thing similar.
I completely agree with you, this would be great trade for the Sabres.
Buffalo and Montreal are swapping prospects and Buffalo gets Toffoli and a 2022 third (which appears could be the 70th OA) for a late first.
I think any one of Cozens, Mittelstadt or Thompson could bring out the best of Toffoli and he could easily return to 20+ goals (BTW he is just off of 20 goals pace this year).
We do not disagree at all, I would make this trade as it fills two holes for Buffalo and they could compete next year.
If Anderson had not been injured this team, that was predicted to vie with Arizona for last, would be close the playoff now.
