Easy no from the Sabres. Easy no from the Leafs with that Vancouver trade.

i get trading for ELC's makes sense cap wise but why would any team in their right mind hand over their prospects that are just breaking into the NHL and could have much higher ceilings? you do realize the target should be proven NHL caliber rentals that are either UFA's after this year or are a UFA after next year, unless its a bigger hockey trade.

i think most people would trade a late 20s pick for Podkolzin

The Canucks wouldn’t. Podkolzin was a top 10 pick. No point in trading him away

I will be the dissenting Sabre.
Looking at a possible line up next year, Asplund could be available.
Skinner Thompson Quinn
Olofsson Cozens Tuch
Krebs Mittelstadt Bjork
Engvall Girgensons Okposo
In addition Murray has looked very comfortable in the last two games at LW.
It appears Asplund has found his Mojo so it may take more than a second and Engvall as most Leaf ACGM's think he could be a waiver claim.
Add Mrazek and drop the retention, it could be a good trade for both teams.
The Leafs move two players who are not part of the playoff push, Buffalo upgrades at GK and adds a PK forward.
