Drafting Wright would be massive but even if Ottawa isnt picking 1st, Kemell looks like a million bucks on the right side too. If one of those two could step in right away, with Sanderson hopefully going pro and if by some miracle Ottawa could add someone like Giroux they could actually be a bubble team next year.

He wouldn't be a terrible 7th defenceman worst case but trading him would make room for Sanderson and Brannstrom

Yeah his production has been nuts. Honestly this might sound stupid because skill and production reign supreme but the only reason I didnt mention him are size and the fact that he's a left shot. 3 of the 4 best forwards for the Sens are already left shot LW or C so getting a right shot winger or centre would be ideal. Obviously prioritizing handedness and size (most places have Savoie at 5'9) shouldnt matter if he's the better player à la Patrick Kane but I'm hoping Wright or Kemell end up being the pick.

Regardless if Ottawa's picking in the top 3 it should be one of those 3 players so hopefully that eliminates the chances of GMPD getting destroyed in the media like he did after the Boucher pick this year lol

He deserves to be raked over the coals for that pick. If the pick is not defensible, don't make it.

Honestly it gave me Shane Bowers vibes, picking someone in the first round that you're hoping turns into a 3rd line player but obviously 10th is very different than 28th so the increased outrage is understandable. The most frustrating part is that Guenther was only one pick ahead, you'd think theyd want to trade up and get the player with the higher ceiling...

Or the literal next pick being Sillinger, who’s playing well in the NHL already

Yeah he wouldve made a lot of sense in terms of play style as well but I genuinely think they were only looking for a right winger, played themselves trying to fill a specific need and probably passed up on a better player because of it

Ya I guess. But he's been okay and he's a good veteran to have around.
