Problem is we do not need RHD, as we have Sieder, Hronek, and Lindstrom, all young players on the right side. WHat Wings need is a 2nd line and Vrana helps provide that dimension. Wings are in the rebuild and they are past the bottom and moving forward. This sets the rebuild back, as we will not get the player in the 2023 draft for at least 3 years. Having Vrana and Zadina together is a pretty good 2nd line, if we can get a center to play with them.

Wings need a center or a LHD defenseman, but with last years draft the LHD might be covered by Evindsson. SO a center but I doubt Washington wants to part with a top prospect center.

This definitely isn’t it. First rounder isn’t even 2022 and we’re trading an established player for magic beans let alone potentially extremely late first rounder next year and won’t see NHL for sometime.

We want a cup that’s what is most important. We need to win now. So I edited it. What do you think

With Vrana a UFA-3 imo just Hendrix is needed

I could see a vrana trade. The wings covet a high end center prospect so if yzerman likes lapierre or mcmichael that much and youd move one then why not.

Eh Hendrix isn't really magic beans with how comfortable he just was in the NHL recently as well as his NHLe so far he's more of a bean plant or...

Whatever a better metaphor might be 😕

Anyhow it's a very nice return ultimately

The value is there in the Vrana trade but I don't see why they would bring him back now. Caps have plenty of wingers an Lapierre is exactly what they need next season and in the future.

Looks better, is there a reason it’s a 2023 1st versus 2022?

The trade was edited & referenced before your post. It was initially a 2023 1st & Iorio IIRC. That’s magic beans but I would also say non-blue chip prospects or prospects without a proven track record would classify as magic beans when talking about a proven top 6 winger. If we’re going to use NHLe then we can use all analytics and say the NHL probability of a 22nd overall selection isn’t a lock to make the NHL. We can also point to the sample size of NHL games. It’s just like Veleno who had a more impressive D+1 season (without the same injury history) but projects as a 3C.

Same is said about 2023. Washington is currently 28th P/G so the top end of the draft doesn’t really apply to them unless they start a downward slide. I’d think the 2022 would be in play with protections as opposed to 2023 considering a the current projected pick.
