Stan Bowman, is that you?

This team wasn't in any shape to contend before last offseason's moves, and it definitely isn't ready now. They're only 6 points ahead of the Coyotes! I won't even go through the trades because buying with this team is a lost cause. Even if they do make it, they're bound to get bounced in the first round and be even worse for wear by the offseason. It's time for the Blackhawks to start rebuilding, it's been put off for far too long and the effects of that decision are apparent, considering the current state of the team.

2) Trades for Quinn Hughes and Tyler Toffoli

That’s an easy no from everyone.

Toffoli isn’t bad defensively, but as a winger he likely won’t be fixing the problem.

And yeah, Hughes certainly isn’t helping defensively. Hughes, Jones, and Gustafsson in the top 4 would make them easily the worst defensive team in the league.

Seth Jones is good defensively it is just that overall he is really overrated

I don't think the values here align with the other teams. Also I don't think our defence has been too bad of late, we have struggled to score. Bottom 3 in goals p/g.

The inevitable is we should be rebuilding and we should have rebuilt last off season but Stan thought there was a chance to go for another run with colliton as the coach.

Hindsight makes all of this easier to see. Dach still needs time, Toews isn't quite the same, Kubs is struggling to get going and the defence and goalies were left vulnerable under collitons coaching system.

It may be time to make some tough calls and build around the future core.
