The thing that’s wildly misguided here is Anderson. It’s a question of whether he’s negative value because that contract is just too long, or if he’s kind of neutral, and maybe some time will throw a late pick at him.

I think Moore for Anderson might be fair, but this is crazy town.

Price has too much term to work around for Edmonton so that easily kills that deal.
Chiarot I do think Holland will be in on and I could even see a first being in play but Lavoie is really pushing it too far in my opinion.

The Islanders have had so many chances to get Hoffman over the past few years and they clearly dont want to touch him with a 10 foot pole. Let alone give up their nhl ready top D prospect already playing very well in the NHL. And adding high picks to that?
I think they are in heavy after Chiarot but i also heard Elliote Friedman say on his podcast that Montreal will ask for a 1st for him but based on the year hes having, no team is going to be willing to do that for a rental. He said its pretty reasonable to think the return would be a 2nd plus a solid prospect or young NHL player. The fact that Savard got a 1st last year was bc he's a right shot D, which are way more valuable, and also the fact that the Lightning knew thier pick was going to be essentially a 2nd round pick. Chiarot doesnt hold the same value.
What i think is an intriguing idea is a Anderson for Wahlstrom swap. Wahlstrom has a higher ceiling if he pans out and already is scoring at a 30 goal pace per 60. He was their leading goal scorer while playing the least minutes on the entire team bc Trotz doesnt trust him defensively yet. Anderson is in his prime and would fit the Isles heavy win now mentality. It makes sense to me based on what both teams are looking to do

Selling low on a prospect in his first full AHL year is really not Holland's style though. He loves to slow bake the young guys, doesn't usually panic when they don't immediately produce. Holland's best attribute.

Agreed. Would love to have Anderson but where Boston really needs help is at center ice and that 2022 1st might be there best chance to get it. Not trading it period. If things have gone south by deadline time Smith is also a very tradeable asset.

He would get claimed guaranteed. At worst there is a sucker born every minute. At best the right team with the right fit for him, it's a homerun.

Then maybe some team would give up a 5th for him…but not a haul.
