Description

I honestly dont think the wild are in that bad of spot even with the Dead caps, we have 2 top 4 D men locked up long term, Spurgeons deal could end up looking bad, but Brodin's deal looks like a steal. If dumba dosent re-sign Addison can finally step into the top 4 RD role. JEEK and KK are 2 franchise forwards, Rossi's ELC will slide this year so no RFA until 2025, boldy and beckman wont be able to command much over 2m in a bridge deal after only 1 full year in the NHL, and hopefully Jesper can come to NA next year and develop in Iowa then we can work him in slowly in 23 with Kappo here as well.

Our cap situation is also pretty bad but I would love to have fiala.

The Oilers aren't going to trade for Fiala. He'd probably be a very good fit there, but Edmonton doesn't have enough room under the salary cap. Fiala's RFA status doesn't help because the qualifying offer is way outside of what's doable for Ken Holland.

Oilers made their bets with Hyman and Nuge and have JP/Yam to re-sign. No budget to bring in additional forward help... need to save whatever cap we can for the defence.
