Description
I think bruins leadership could help out kane massively. when san jose had pavelski, thornton we heard little negative news about kane it wasn't until after they left that he had no one trying to guide him into the right direction. Personally even though bruins haven't been dirty since pre 2015 we still hold that rep so acquiring kane wouldn't change our reputation really i would be willing to take a risk on kane if he goes to counselling for his gambling addiction and with them help of bruins leadership this trade could end up being a huge steal. We all know what kane is capable of and a line combo of hall, coyle and kane surely would have to be up there as one of the most productive 2nd lines in the league. Kane also replaces foligno on that PP1 and now that line has a top PP quarterback in mcavoy aswell as 4 30+ goal scorers surely it would start to translate more success as kane ran the same spot foligno does in san jose and did very good at his PP role aswell. Kane ran some PK in san jose which is nice and cassidys prefers players that play a solid 2 way game and back check hard

You think giving up a 1st for a guy who will play 3rd pair is wise?

SJ quite frankly laughs. Horrible deal. We can buy him out for less than half retention yet we're going to send a strong fwd prospect AND a pick for the lowly DeBrusk. Hilarious.

Horrible deals all around,

Also Besides Chabot, Zub is likely the only D that stays with the Club as the kids all come up, so no way they move on him for a guy that is a place holder.

So does Boston honestly. Been a lot of traction in here for it but:

Best case scenario - Kane stays out of the headlines. Plays well. They trade at him at the deadline for bigger return than Debrusk would have gotten.

Worst case - he’s the same douchebag, destroys team chemistry, nobody wants him, stuck with him for 3 more years.

What’s more likely?

Should be an easy no for Don, but it’s Don so….🤷🏻‍♂️

ive seen like 3-4 acgm's that were that one soo? i'd do it 1v1 but might aswell try to acquire as much as possible. plus if you buyout not only are you paying him to play for a different team but you got no assets in return, realistically you aren't getting value really for kane as teams know san jose will just buy him out if they can't trade him so it is more or less debrusk for leonard and a 3rd and that is a good deal for san jose

i think the worst is behind him personally. the guy hit rock bottom im sure that was a real wake up call for him, he's freshly divorced and i think i saw one of the guys say kane is reportedly going to counselling aswell those are all positives. I think he has had to much issues in san jose therefore he needs to be moved to have a fresh slate

It's not a good deal. It's abysmal at best.

He’s been hated in every locker room he’s been in. No thanks, let him be somebody elses problem.

it is no different then our talks of getting manson price would be close to the same. serchagev plays 3rd pair in tampa nothing wrong with having a stacked one side. outside of our first pair there isn't much consistency so yes im fine with picking up a stronger RHD with previous chemistry with reilly if that is what it takes to have another productive dpairing. Personally carlo has been pretty bad a few times this year and if it takes a little more competition for him to get into a groove again then that is what it takes. All im saying is if reilly and zub were to perform really well don't you think that would make grzz and carlo work a little harder as they don't wanna lose ice time

i mean what do the bruins got to lose. if there is a locker room that could settle his ego it would most likely be the bruins. outside of a few years in san jose with pavelski, thornton he hasn't been on teams with the strongest leadership at the time of him being there atleast in boston theres guys like marchy, bergy, chucky who could set him straight. If this was the 80s/90/s even early 2000's bruins would be all over him. personally id rather him talking a little smack to his teammates then sleeping with their wives. in terms of true talent we won't get a player even close to kane if we move debrusk 1v1

Sens probably pass on that one. Clifton isn’t the answer and a late 1st and 4th doesn’t make up the difference for Ottawa to push Zubs value 2-4 years down the road.

Not totally disagreeing, but Leonard isn't that good of a prospect. The 3rd is more insulting than losing him.

This might get you 1 year of Artem Zub, not 2.

Ottawa declines.

What have they got to lose? How about Bergy saying F this I’m out of here at years end. Hertl has all but said if Kane is still there he won’t be. Sharks players don’t want him back. Take their cue. He’s not worth it. I’d rather place Debrusk on waivers than trade for Kane.
