I have scored as many NHL goals this year as Sheehan can Oilers aren't giving up a pick and roster spot to obtain me. Howards contract extends two more years than Halak's. Too much for Howards especially when there are lots of goalies available.

These were proposed by nyi fans. And they all liked them. And oilers need a long term 3rd line center. And despite scoring drought sheahan is exactly that with much more upside. One down year doesn't define the guys career. People forget that we played majority of last season with sheahan as our second line center. The kid is still good and still has a future. And is well worthy of a second rounder

Oh come on now palhal......

That logic suggests that right now Duchene is a 3rd line center, Hampus Lindholm a bottom pairing dman and Josh Leivo an equal scorer to Filip Forsberg (0.75 PPG)........

While I agree he probably isn't worth a 2nd rounder, just due to his low value right now, let's not sit here and pretend this guy should be playing on a bantam AAA team instead of the NHL.

Plenty of players have bad seasons and rebounded the following year. Its a bad season on an equally bad team. He's done much better in the past to suggest this is just a funk.

Between the money we'd eat on halak and pay a backup we'd be better off keeping Howard than making that trade

Coreau is not a NHL caliber goalie, and we'd be paying over $4 mill to him and halak. I'm in favor of trading Howard, but if that's the deal I'd rather keep him and have 2 NHL caliber starters. Only way I'd consider it is if the isles are retaining the majority of Halaks contract

Coreau has shown in his brief stint that the potential is definitkey there. That's one of the better deals we will probably get without having to retain Howard for another few years and sending a prospect with him. Time to step into the future bud

Quit looking through your fan goggles. Coreau has no puck awareness at all, he relies on the puck hitting him bc of his size. Guy is a ahl starter at best
