To be fair, had he been a few inches taller, I think he would have been in the conversation for a top 3 pick in his draft year. He's also lighting it up in Iowa with 15 points in 13 games.

If we were to try to acquire Pettersson, we would have to move Fiala. We're already $1k under the cap here and the Parise/Suter buyouts increase by $8M in dead cap next year. Because of that, we also can't really afford to trade any of our top prospects since they are really cheap.

Fiala, Rossi, and a 1st might start the conversation for Pettersson. I don't think Guerin would want to do that though since he wasn't willing to move Rossi for Eichel.
