I'd consider a lot of things to trade Savard, but not that.

Too little for Miller and if he's traded it should be for futures.

I doubt Hamonic goes back to NYI after specifically requesting a trade away from there.

Playing Poolman ahead of Savard shows there is little hockey IQ behind any of these moves. Why trade for a reliable top-four RD option if you'll run a bottom pairing guy ahead of him?

Unless they get a miracle worker in as GM, the window to successfully “Retool” has closed. The team has a group of talented players that will be exiting their prime in the next 2-3 years, and a groups of players that won’t be hitting their prime for another 2-3 years.
In my opinion they should build around the latter group and collect as many assets as they can from the former group. If done right, those assets should help support the latter group in the next 3-5 years and the team can finally be consistently competitive again.
