That would be a smart move for NYR

I'm pretty sure that Rangers defensive structure is miles better than Ottawa so Murray would be fine there

1. The Rangers simply cannot take on any contracts that extend beyond this year.
2. Krav and a 2nd is more than enough for Toffoli, the conditional 1st is too much for him. At this price Id rather they go after Lebanc who is 5 years younger making similar money and is a bit more the playmaker, facilitator that the Zib line needs.

Montreal doesn't accept that sorry, we can get a top 10 protected 1st and prospect for Toffoli. Kravstov doesn't have the value of a 1st rounder any more. This is more like 2 2nds which is still ok but IMO selling slightly low on Toffoli.

I like a few things here.

1. Ottawa doesn't have to tender Georgiev's qualifying offer in 2022 and can just make him a UFA.

2. The Rangers eat half of one of Ottawa's cap dumps.

3. Ottawa gets a free draft pick.
