He just never really clicked in NSH -- probably a mix of bad utilization and high expectations considering they traded a 1st round pick for him. Glad to see he's found a good spot in MIN.

It's not like Minnesota gave him much of a chance right away. Glad Wild have let him blossom, doubt he continues this pace, but not expecting a huge drop off in production.

I thought the same thing about him last year. He particularly impressed me in the playoffs. Seemed to be always noticeable and never took his foot of the gas; was consistently at the center of great chances and just generally seemed like a pain in the ass to play against. I believe he's versatile positionally, too. Even if his scoring drops off a bit (which it probably will), that's real valuable player at $1.7m for the next two years after this one.

Call me cray, but Hartman to me seems like he could be sort of a poor mans Brad Marchand, late bloomer Fast, skilled player with a nose for the net and an agitator. I doubt he will ever put up PPG numbers but barring a significant drop off he's going to have 45+ points this year. If his 5 on 5 P/60 can stay above 2.0 that would be a steal for a contract hes on.
