OTT would not trade their 2022 first round pick for Kappo and Laf combined, Both trending heavily into bust category

That isn't getting you Shane Wright from any team at the bottom.

If Ottawa is drafting 1st, there's not a price high enough to get them to move Shane Wright.

I think if you added Kakko or Laf to the package it would be acceptable

Why bother just go about the draft like normal. Rangers jump up 100 spots to get 1OA nothing new here

It seems drafting 2nd overall in 2019 and 1st overall in 2020 is not enough for you.

      Too bad.

I made a point of saying this trade would be BEFORE the lottery. So its not a trade for Wright, its a trade for the 1-in-6 chance at getting first overall pick (which would select Wright).

Once the lottery is complete, whichever team gets the first pick won't ever sell it.

Kakko maybe to replace Kravtsov or the second 1st pick.

Fair question. Because the Rangers have plenty of young players and prospects but have a very big hole to fill at centre. And we would like to find a young player who could play right away in top-6 while on his ELC

If those two picks were playing has we had hoped they would be, we would be content. But they are not.

Or Garth Snow, who tried to trade his entire slate of draft picks in 2012 for the #2 overall pick (Tyler Myers).

Let me ammend my statement slightly. No team with a serious shot at the Shane Wright sweepstakes is trading their pick just because you'd want it. From that team's perspective, for it to be even hypothetically worth it, you'd need to make an offer as though they had already won the 1st pick, which obviously makes no sense for any team.

Sorry I was just being snarky. Yes they need Cs.
The NYRs have had plenty of ping pong ball luck as of lately stand pat, it will come there way, is what I meant
