Again Minnesota doesn't need, pr want winger no matter what. To think Minnesota will give 2nd round pick, or 1st round pick for a winger isn't realistic

Smith is a defenseman, you might want to do your research on a player before you mouth off about them.

      So, here's the problem.

Conditional picks are no longer allowed in regards to if a player resigns with a team anymore, as per the changes made to the CBA just before the play-in rounds two seasons ago.

Just wondering, may I have a condition like “if Smith plays 1 game next season for the Wild” , which implies that he resigns?

Minny would do this. I think it would free us up to trade "Defensive Assets" for centers or forward assets. I think NJ would want more for Ty than this but Minny would most likely accept.

Why give Smith up only for a 2nd though? From everything I’ve heard and seen, isn’t he really good?

He's having a rough sophomore season and people are overreacting.

Based on how this team is made up we would have 4.2 million in cap space to resign Holtz, Mercer, and Daws. If the cap does not rise. But even if it rises lets say 4 mil, that still only gives us 8.2 million to resign those players. At this rate if Mercer plays like this for all years of his ELC we are in trouble with how much money he will want. JG is not who we need at that price. I do believe he is a 1st line winger but for that type of money I let him go somewhere else. It puts us in a horrible cap situation. I would prefer someone like Filip Forsberg.
