Honestly if there was a player you guys desperately need it’s Jiricek or Nemec. Wright would be great but it’s just so much easier to get a forward prospect back in a trade then a top RD prospect

Imo yes. He’s cheap for now and a good shutdown guy. I don’t think Tampa wants to trade him

I've had Lightning fans breathing down my neck trying to wake me up to the fact that Cernak is worth a 1st rounder minimum, and they successfully convinced me that he is. He's their strongest Right-handed defender on that team. Tampa has an absolutely stacked left side of defense with Hedman, McDonagh, and Sergachev, while their right side is a little underwhelming with Cernak, as well as Jan Rutta and Zach Bogosian who are both Replacement level defenders. I think on just about any other team, Cernak is a top pairing defenseman, so a 1st and a 3rd rounder is probably the maximum return the Lightning could get for him. As a Canucks fan, I don't mind it, the team has actually been linked with Cernak before, as far back as the 2021 off-season I believe when the player was offer-sheet eligible. Plus, he's exactly the type of defenseman the Canucks need right now

That's probably his market value , however TB probably values him more than that.

Considering that’s the value for cernak if he was on the block that deal doesn’t go thru, tampa has two nhl level RD and one of them has 30 career games so if Tampa’s moving cernak they want that and a good nhl level RD
