Wild Prospect Question

Description
Wild fans, I’m looking for some guidance from those of you who know our prospect pool well. Can you help me flush out approximate timelines on when we could expect NHL time? Maybe use current day Addison as the cutoff for what constitutes “nhl time”. Meaning, if they’re not even sniffing games or on the doorstep with the timeline below, I’m hoping to be corrected.

I realize it’s hard to say and some of the below guys may not ever make it. I’m just trying to project out the dead cap era a little better for my own understanding.

Let me know what looks off and if I’m omitting anyone key.

And feel free to let me know if you have any input on NHL likelihood too.

There is no chance in hell McBain makes his debut this year. Boldy didn't get his debut last year, and still hasn't. They didn't even give Rossi a chance at making the team in camp. If McBain even plays this year, he's going straight the to AHL, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Incentive or not, he's not playing in the NHL this season.

Rossi is nowhere near ready to play in the NHL. He's probably the 4th best FWD in Iowa right now: Boldy (he's been the best player on the ice in the AHL games I've watched this year), Dewar, Rau are better than him.

Boldy not getting at least a couple NHL games last season was bad management. They need to learn from that and do better. Prospects need to get a cup of coffee and experience the speed of the NHL game so they at least have an idea of what to expect when the next preseason starts.

McBain and Boldy are completely different situations.
Boldy had 1 choice: go back to college and play 2 more years or sign with MN and at least burn a year of his ELC.
McBain can wait a few months and be a FA that sign anywhere he wants. The number of years of his ELC will be the same if he signs with MN or waits to become a FA. The only thing MN can offer him is money this year. The only way to make the money rally matter is to have him getting NHL pay, not AHL pay. NHL pay is like 10 times greater than AHL pay, per day. That money is the real cookie, the couple of games he gets into is just the icing on the cookie.

They're not going to put McBain on an NHL roster just because they want to keep him. If Rossi is "nowhere near ready to play in the NHL", then McBain is never going to be an NHL player. Rossi is twice the player McBain is right now. At least.

If he's going to walk because he's not being promised NHL games, let him walk. We don't need fourth line divas coming into the locker room after one good year in the NCAA out of four. Guerin can't promise anyone play time. He's not the coach.

And why again did Kaprizov stay in Russia instead of signing much earlier with the Wild? Oh yea, it was because he didn't feel wanted by the organization. This is also a business/life decision not being a diva (there is nothing about him that gives off Haula vibes).

The GM overrides the coach on everything if he so desires. The GM can fire a coach, the coach can't fire the GM.

And you think Guerin is going to promise McBain NHL time, force Evason to go along with it, and threaten to fire him if he doesn't?

Does that seem like something Guerin would do, to secure the services of a potential bottom six guy?

Or do you think Guerin is the type to make McBain earn his spot, and not hand him anything?

To get his signed instead of losing him that is part of the job as a GM. Give him a cookie, get him signed. If the cost is a couple of NHL games at the end of the year then so be it. Next year he goes to the AHL and has to work his way up same as everybody else. That's just the business side of things. This is the same GM that bent over and took from JEE, Spurgeon, and Kaprizov after all.

Seriously asking about GMBG getting bottom-6 guys? All he's brought to this team is bottom players: Bjugstad, Bonino, MarJo, Cole, Kulikov, Merrill, Freddy G, etc. McBain costs MN nothing to sign, other than money and a roster spot. MN is rather short on center prospects currently.

My projection goes like this:
Within 1-2 years:
Addison
Boldy
Beckman
Rossi
Dewar

2-3 years:
Wallstedt
Lambos
O'Rourke
Khusnutdinov or Hunt perhaps
