I really like that trade for the Wings, the second round pick is a good return for Leddy and Grzelcyk could honestly fit in anywhere on the left side, at a good cap hit and term. Bruins might be getting shafted on value though.

Exactly, not a good move for Boston.

youre getting a 25 yo roster player and a 1st in a loaded draft dont see the bruins also forking up lysell in that deal.

To the OP studnick for appleton is a terrible deal. Seattle offered appleton to boston for debrusk straight up. Dont think we should trade grz AND a pick for leddy either. Grz and mcavoy have been a great pairing.

Debrusk has basically zero value and a late 1st isn't gonna get you a PPG forward with term. It's not gonna happen without Lysell

It’s not great value but I also don’t think it’s a great fit for Detroit. If you look at Yzerman’s drafting/trading/FA acquisitions can you name one defensemen his size that isn’t ADA?

I’d say just getting a second for Leddy wouldn’t be a good return imo. We traded a second for him and then we’d be retaining here. I’d also point to the fit of Grzelcyk. A poster on HFB compiled all of the defensemen Yzerman has acquired and the list isn’t very long of sub 6’ guys.

Grizz for Leddy 1 for 1 is a bad deal for Boston, this is an abomination, and i’m not a Grizz fan.

Nucks decline.

Boston does not do that.

I think a second is a decent return by itself, but you're right, it would probably cost more with full retention like this. I understand the concern for the fit, but I don't think being under 6' would keep Yzerman from taking Grzelcyk. He acquired Fabbri, Biega, and Stecher (all 5'10) as well as Pius Suter (5'9) just this offseason. While he may be drafting some big guys, he doesn't seem to have an issue with smaller players as long as they're actually good.

Zero value yet a dozen teams have called on him already. 🙄

He’s never had an issue with forward size. He also didn’t acquire Fabbri, that was a Holland trade for JDLR so not exactly material value. Stetcher and Biega are also depth defensemen and weigh more than 170-175 + aren’t 3.7M AAV.

They think they can get him for cheap because any player who has requested a trade already has lowered their value.

That is a misconception often spouted on here. If McJesus requested a trade his value would drop? It’s not a thing. It is solely dependent on the situation. Supply and demand and perceived value. If anything a player requesting a trade brings out more interest around the league. There is no leverage here, Boston does not have to trade him. He can’t force them into accepting a bad deal just for the sake of moving him. He has no trade protection limiting who they can negotiate with. They can sit him in the press box and let him pout.

Dude DeBrusk isn’t McDavid but I get your point. Still don’t think his value is high, what are you hoping to see a return for him to be?

That depends on the route they choose.

I’d prefer he goes in a package to upgrade the roster.

If 1 for 1 someone like Dylan Strome or Valimaki.

If picks. A 2nd.

Seems pretty fair to me

I’ve heard maybe they put him in a package to get Garland or fiala

I have not heard that yet. I heard Chicago asked about Strome 1 for 1 and Seattle Appleton 1 for 1. But those are the only names that i have heard leaked so far.

I guess it is more speculative, it was on the cold stove podcasting regarding fiala and garland

Garland has been one of the bright spots in Van. Can’t imagine them moving him. Would love it if they did though.

I think would want a lot for him in a trade and it would probably mean they are rebuilding the whole org and that point.
