This finna be a long seasoning spices

Created by: Callfrom295
Team: 2021-22 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 16, 2021
Published: Dec. 2, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This team sucks and has no hope for the next five years UNLESS:

- the entire defensive core is liquidated.
- Petry out (find him a team where he can play on a bottom 4 defensive partnership)
- Chariot out INDEFINITELY (whatever draft pick he’s worth, take it),
- find Kulak a new home
- waive Widemen and Niku
- think about keeping Edmundson or seeing what he’s worth for trade.
- ACQUIRE an up and coming, trustworthy puck mover (God knows if that even is available at any time soon on the market) to develop alongside Guhle, Norlinder, and (I hate to say it) Mailloux. We need to develop our own d-core.

- Move at least two wingers (whether it the culprit is Lehkonen, Armia, Toffoli, Byron, or Hoffman, someone needs to be moved) to bring in something to upgrade the team, or a high draft pick. Maybe package for a big player.

- need a CERTIFIED, go-to, offensive player. Drouin is displaying himself as a solid playmaker, though the lines have flip flopped every week he’s still displayed great skill in passing and vision. This team is desperate for someone they can rely on offensively, Caufield and Suzuki need time (and Cole needs someone to set him up, CLEARLY), Hoffman/Toffoli even Gallagher need someone to create more chances. Which in actuality, and looking at the structure of the Habs depth, they need:
- a first line centre. Whether the fans like it or not, Suzuki is not ready to take this team to the mountain offensively (too many responsibilities defensively as a two way centre, which he’s very solid at)
- Dvorak is an ideal second or third line centre, Evans is progressing well, but there’s a clear and apparent drop off in offensive capabilities with this core. They need a bona fide offensive player, and if this team wants to win literally anything, it’ll most likely have to be a star.

- lastly, Carey Price and Jake Allen HAS to be your fully healthy tandem.

Whether any of these things are done through the next Canadiens GM, or they tank this season and get an offensive talent early in the draft. Though in summary, it’s going to be an absolute drag of a season for Habs fans.

Did you seriously just offer two bottom six players to a rebuilding team trying to tank for 3 extremely high picks? Are you okay?

Blues say no. They already have Faulk and Parayko locked up for term. No need for another. What they need is someone on the left side. Like Lindholm from Anaheim

The Blues have neither the cap nor the need for Petry, so it's not even worth discussing that trade.

Toronto and Montreal media members should start a "Hall of not quite good enough" for some of the guys they overhype, who turn out to simply be depth players (Which is still better than all of us).

Legends like Brooksie, Bracco, Justin Pogge (World Junior legend!!!), Sherbak, Biggsy, Louis Leblanc, PEI Rocket superstar Cory Urquart, Perezhogin, David Fischer should absolutely be 1st ballot "Hall of not quite good enough-ers".

My beloved Ducks would also be happy to nominate a tonnnnnne of guys as well, should the "Hall of not quite good enough" accept nominations from elsewhere.

Whooooops! I almost feel bad for how big of a hype train the media creates for a lot of these guys. Like, every single friggin' pick, regardless of draft position, gets the old "Steal of the draft!" label tagged to them, and then a ton of fans lay back and let them forcefeed it into 'em. I'm kinda fortunate with my Duckos that, aside from some blogs doing some analysis on guys, and the hype train on Drysdale/Zegras, we don't see much of that. I'm sure if our fan base was more than a fraction of what your guys are in Canada, it'd be exactly the same.

I'm sure it's sheer coincidence squinting with tongue out, but the same GM that drafted studs like Tyler Biggs, also spent some time picking gems like Mark Mitera & Logan MacMillan.

I'm nominating Mitera and MacMillan, with an honourable mention to Peter Holland as my 1st 3 nominees.

Please relax none of the trades were legit just displaying who needs to go, hence the paragraphs above. Not sure how the other trades didn’t indicate the trades weren’t legit but I guess homer bias blinds ya
