Actually noticed that the guy who claimed Robertson dropped Ryan Hartman, who has been the breakout player of the year by a mile so far (the guy had never scored more than 31 points in a season, he has 13 goals and 8 assists already, along with 84 SOG-9th in the league-and a +/- of 22, tops in the league). Filed a claim, hopefully nobody else outbids me.

I wouldn't call him the breakout player of the year by far with the way Troy Terry has been playing so far this year, but Hartman is still one of the biggest competitors for that title.

From ProHockeyRumors.com:

The new executive vice president of hockey operations for the Montreal Canadiens met with the media today, as Jeff Gorton did his best to work through an opening statement in French (BWAHAHAHA tears of joy ) before taking questions. While there were nearly a half dozen questions about the potential of Patrick Roy joining him as general manager (INSERT: THAT WOULD BE HILARIOUS)–something Gorton would not commit to or rule out–eventually he was also asked about the future of head coach Dominique Ducharme.

Gorton explained that he will not be making a coaching change this season, allowing Ducharme to play out the year before making a decision. There is no question that the position will be evaluated at that point, but Gorton repeatedly said that he needs more time to evaluate the whole organization before making any big decisions like that.

On the topic of general manager, Gorton told reporters that he won’t be making any hire until after Christmas and noted that the team will be potentially looking for an “outside the box” candidate. He and team president Geoff Molson have not yet made a list of candidates, as he continues to get familiar with the organization.

100% true, I forgot about Terry now that his 16-game point steak came to an end a couple of games ago

Yep, guy is an absolute legend. I have yet to meet someone that hated TJ Oshie.

Couple other gems are Ovechkin's "Shake, Rattle, and Roll". and Nic Dowd's "You can call me Al"

I'm a Pens fan & a Canadian

I don't hate Oshie, but I definitely don't like him

I thought he would've been claimed at the start of the year but apparently no GM wanted to claim him, waivers are always interesting

When guys like Kylington or Forsling now Clague go on waivers, take a risk and grab them

Wow. Just a week after Eichel became the first NHL player to undergo the artificial disk replacement surgery the Sabres attempted to dissuade him from having, there's a second. Tyler Johnson has undergone the same procedure and his estimated recovery time is also 3 months.

shows how stupid BUF was for not letting Eichel get his surgery
good for them both though (Johnson & Eichel)

i think it was because it was the first time that it was performed on an NHL player. they didnt want to take the risk of him being out for the rest of his career
key word: i think

I'm inclined to agree, but I'll reserve judgment on that one until I see how he actually looks on the ice.

differing opinions from doctors.
Sabres team wanted him to get fusion regardless (and if his ADR (the surgery he got) goes poorly he has to get fusion) so they wouldn't allow him to get the ADR because it wasn't what their "team" concluded and they didnt trust the surgery because hes the first REAL major athlete to get it. so just the sabres being stubborn.
