Under different circumstances, Jake DeBrusk might make a lot of sense for the Edmonton Oilers. He's originally from Edmonton, only 25-years-old, and has been a very strong point producer and playoff performer in the past. Edmonton doesn't need a top-6 LW though, they have the highest scoring offense in the NHL, but they need more consistent depth scoring. Another middle six forward who can play centre and is versatile enough to contribute in all game scenarios should be their target. DeBrusk is pretty much exclusively a LW and his cap hit and record suggest he's a wildly expensive and not very effective player when deployed as a bottom six forward. As much as it could be a nice story, bringing DeBrusk to the Oilers could prove detrimental to the player and the team. Besides, the Bruins need a 2C, and the Oilers don't have an abundance of those.
