Huge return for Gibson but I'm fine with it. Ideally one of Lavoie/Savoie gets swapped with a d-prospect (Samorukov/Neimelinen/Lagesson) just so we aren't dumping that much of the forward prospect depth at once though

I see no point to moving John Gibson before his contract runs out, unless and until Lukas Dostal (or someone else) is ready to replace him from within.

We couldn't re-sign Hampus if we had traded him at the deadline. I think we'll make every effort to keep him.

We won't be, or have to be, paying more for Ryan Getzlaf next season than we are this season.

We'll probably pay Sam Carrick more than that, and I can't see us signing Reilly Smith for one year, let alone five, at that price or any other.

You forgot Sonny Milano, who is playing pretty well with Trevor Zegras and Troy Terry, and who makes Robby Fabbri redundant, especially at that hit.

oilers dont do this trade as that is way to many assets to give up we dont have the cap space for his contract
plus skinner has been looking great in his games with smith still signed for next year.
mikko also put in alot of work in the summer and looks like he can be decent in a back up role again for a better cap hit.

Gibson stats of the last 3 years are almost identical to both smith and mikko so it makes 0 sense to do this.

Isles make the trade if the pick is lottery protected in 2022. Otherwise no shot given where they are
