I'd argue Miller alone is worth more than Turcotte atm

I respectfully disagree with that assessment.

Definitely would be a fan of adding Turcotte but I wouldn't do Miller.

Also the continuation of devaluing Kravtsov isn't acceptable either. If LA wants to move Turcotte we can center a deal around someone else if Kravtsov is viewed so lowly.

I had put his value at the same as Lias Andersson. Their situations are pretty comparable. Andersson returned a mid-to-late 2nd round pick.

I have been consistent in saying that I think that a fair trade would be Miller + 2nd for Turcotte. Instead of the 2nd, I added Kravtsov and sent back a 4th so the Rags aren't down a pick in the draft.

Hard to say. Right now, I'd say it's pretty close. Miller has the advantage of being an NHL defender already while Turcotte has the higher ceiling. Probably 1 for 1 isn't a bad deal.

I can't think of any other player besides Miller on the Rangers that would interest the Kings in a Turcotte trade, outside of players who I assume are untouchables (namely Kakko). Miller's the centerpiece or Turcotte remains a King, and I respectfully still think the Rangers need to add. Not a ton mind you. But something.

Except the fact that Lias Andersson is a bad hockey player and Vitali Kravtsov still has potential. He said he'll be coming back after the KHL season ends so to trade him while his value is weathered is highly ill-advised.

Turcotte for Miller + 2nd? No thanks. I appreciate your creative offer here but I value Miller more at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I'd love Turcotte but he hasn't shown that 1C level we thought we'd see by now.

Rangers wouldn't keep the line open for too long then. We don't have anyone to replace trading Miller.

Sorry, that sounds off of what I meant. I meant I don't think Turcotte for Miller would be 1 for 1. Not that more needs to be added to Kravtsov and Miller.

All fairness to Turcotte, he missed a lot of two seasons with fairly major injuries. After returning last season, he finished up with the Reign on a PPG pace. He just overtook last year's AHL MVP TJ Tynan as 1C on the Reign for this season.

Andersson has actually looked pretty good with the Kings so far. He has shown good chemistry with Gabe Vilardi, but that got derailed when Andersson was injured to start the season, then right when he came back, Vilardi went out on COVID protocol. Vilardi is down in the AHL for conditioning right now, but once he's returned, I think we'll see that line reunited.

I could be off on Kravtsov's value/situation. I'll admit I haven't followed it closely since all the drama happened a few months ago. Just thought that this would be a way for the Rangers to get their center, for LA to get their LHD, and for Kravtsov to get the change of scenery that he's been asking for.

Well, that's a take.

Lias isn't a bad hockey player. The Rangers and their development staff put him in a position he wasn't ready or prepared for, then blamed him when he didn't succeed. That's an organizational failure, not a player failure. He's actually been pretty successful with both the Reign and the Kings. Is he worth the 7th overall pick that the Rangers used on him? No. But again, that's an organizational issue for poor scouting and drafting.

Kings fans are happy with him? I've watched some games and was invisible but Kings Twitter hates him. I've never liked his game but if he's finding his feet that's good to hear. Point totals still mirror his back in NYC though.

I'll tell you what, Could we center Miller + Kravtsov for Turcotte + Bjornfot?

Kinda defeats the purpose that LA is going for. They're trading for Miller because of their severe shortage of quality young LHD. Trading Bjornfot would just open another hole. Also, I don't think Bjornfot is going anywhere. I think he's the next Kings' captain after Kopitar retires.

I could see them moving one of their RHD prospects like Helge Grans though.

I kinda like the framework behind this one, but considering Miller's NHL status I think that trade should be closer as 1-on-1. LA would probably have to add a NHL ready D-man for NYR to use this year as this trade creates a hole for their roster, like Clague for instance.

Hm?

Turcotte is unable to hit a point per game in AHL and Kravstov is putting similar point per game numbers in a league with higher NHLe rn, huge factor there

As ever Drury irrationally tanked kravs value

He's still developing like most ~10th picks

Then K'Andre rounding into just a gem of an NHLer with his mobility, creativity and tact, lovely possession numbers, even his pts/60 this year is solid

Why respectfully tho lol Confused

I mean hey I love me some respect no mistake there

But it's a very indulgent offer from LAK ultimately

Posts like these reveal how absurdly high Rangers fans value Kravstov. I totally agree with the take assessing his value to equate to Lias. Same results. Same place in time. Fading potential of yet another top draft pick. The results speak louder than this potential y'all speak of.

The bigger issue is Miller, not Kravtsov imo.

If Im LA I would instead of Kravstov be looking at a top 4 Dman unhappy on his current team and I think both sides want a change

That someone is Dahlin. I think its time for him to be moved and LA did want a young top 4 LD. Well Dahlin seems to be the guy.

But adding Kravstov on top of Dahlin would also be cool.

As for what a trade would look like your guess is as good as mine.

I've made that ACGM before. Turcotte for Miller + 2nd. It always gets mixed, but generally favorable reviews.

Seems right to me. Alternative could be…Zac Jones for another one of LAK’s 32 young centers.
