not really

I have been saying this since it came out that DeBrusk requested a trade it makes sense for Vancouver to trade Miller for DeBrusk. Miller doesn't seem happy in Vancouver/ Canada for this pandemic. I believe he was vocal about not liking not being able to have his family come to Canada because of the pandemic and being away from them was hard. So him going to a US team makes alot of sense. To a place like Boston who fits his style of play is just a no brainer. This trade immensely helps both teams and Canucks get another young winger that can grow together with the rest of the core young players in Vancouver.

Canucks decline. The value here is less than what Vancouver payed for him. They’d want Lysell +

a struggling player, a cap dump and a late first doesn't get you a point per game player

“J.T. has loved Vancouver and we’ve never discussed him wanting out. It seems like someone just made up a meme with a totally fake quote then J.T. was able to quickly set the record straight. No fire at all for fake smoke!” — Brian Bartlett, J.T. Miller's agent
